How to Spring into a Season of Gratitude

How does the arrival of spring make you feel? Does it bring you a new wave of gratitude? Spring is a time of growth and renewal. The bright, colorful blooms come back to life again and the sun shines through the fluffy, white clouds.

It is very common for seasonal depression to hit during the cold, winter months because we stay inside most of the time. During this time, we might forget about the things we do have that make us happy and focus on the negative.

If you had a case of the winter blues this year, the best thing you can do now is get into the sunshine! Get some natural vitamin D to help chase the sad feelings away. Take some time to smell the roses or go on a walk with your loved ones. Spring tends to remind us what we are grateful for. Gratitude helps us flip the script and change our perspective.

You can also lift your mood by practicing mindfulness. Studies prove that mindfulness reduces anxiety and depression. Mindfulness requires present time consciousness. The goal is to focus on the present moment and be grateful in it.

Mindfulness Exercise:

Find a quiet, comfortable spot and make mental notes of the sensations you are feeling.

How does the weather feel?
What does the scenery look like?
What sounds do you hear?
Is there any movement around you?

Try NOT to think of your grocery list and all the things you must do that day. Be present and in the moment.

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”
